Most 6.9l KitchenAid mixers come with either a coated or uncoated aluminium beater.  This beater is made from top quality stainless steel and then hand polished in the UK until the blade has a mirror shine.

It is not uncommon for the coating to be chipped off the coated beaters.  This uncoated stainless steel version will not suffer the same fate.  It is totally dishwasher safe.

So why have we hand polished these KitchenAid beaters?  
When they come to us the outside is highly polished but the inside is “rough”.  It is easy to polish the outside but the inside takes a lot more time.  It is possible that this adds too much to the manufacturing cost and it is left rough.  We believe that the look is really important.  We also believe that the highly polished surface is easier to keep clean.

Stainless steel is much stronger than aluminium and will last a lot longer.
